Reality Shock!

By filmmaker64

Did it ever happen to you?! You had a dream and you wanted to make it true, and when you did, you felt cheated. You wanted something madly and when you got it, it’s not what you wished for.It happened to me when I got my first job just after graduation, I felt depressed right after the second week. Although I always wanted to work in where I’m working now, I got that feeling before the first month ended. Why? I just realized the answer.

Sometimes things inevitably interfere in our lives to tweak our decisions, that what happened to me when -while I was applying for my dream place right after graduation- another company kept calling me , insisted to interview me and later offered me a nice job with a fantastic salary. I went through the process(4 interviews) just for the fun of it, I wasn’t serious about it ‘coz I was determined to go for my dream place and guess what? I was in Sharm ElShekh enjoying my last trip before my career starts when both companies called me and told me that I was accepted in both places. Some of my friends agreed that I should go for my dream, while the majority endorsed to get the offer with the double salary my dream place offered, but for me, it didn’t make sense to me to give up my dream when I finally got it. I came back home, declined one offer and accepted the other, and wooops, it’s the reality shock I told you about.

Bottom line is, if that company had never called me thrice for interviews and later offered me that quality offer, I would have never had something to compare my dream place offer with any else one, I would have never felt that depression, and you know what ? I would have never knew that there’s more for me out there that I should cease. So this is how things work sometimes to make you wake up and realize that it’s just a dream.

We all have a dream to seek and work hard to implement in reality, but the question is do you think that rejecting an offer and accepting the other is a wrong decision !, maybe you faced this situation to respect the good offers that come to you later in life. Still young and enthusiastic maybe you will be that change in your current job. Maybe in one day you will leave your mark in that company you are now working in, look at the bright side and think again :) .

Well I have to say that its alot better to want something then it proves you wrong rather than NOT wanting anything at all. We all need to start working to understand what really is our dream job. it is these disappointments that makes us well adjusted. Just like a successful marriage needs arguments. (excuse my wild metaphor.)
